Making Magic by Martin Lewis
Product detailed description
Martin Lewis’ book Making Magic is a treasure trove for any working magician, especially if their primary interest is stage magic.
Making Magic is a collection of sixty effects, with thirty-seven being stand-up routines. Martin shares his most popular effects here, including:
- Cardiographic (and its smaller version, Cardiographic Lite) - Martin’s legendary Rising Card effect done on a notepad.
- Sidewalk Shuffle - The magician shows four cards - three blank and one Ace of Clubs. They put the Ace under their arm and shuffle the blank ones. The card under the arm is then shown to be blank, with the Ace traveling back to the packet. They then perform the same effect again. As a surprise climax for the third and final phase of the effect, the card under the arm is again shown to be blank, but now all three remaining cards are Aces!
- Undivided - A torn and restored cigarette paper.
- Golf - An egg bag routine performed with a golf ball instead of an egg. The magician ends the routine by pulling a golf club out of the bag.
- Threesome - A card-in-bottle routine performed with three spectators and three selected cards.
The title Making Magic is literal. To perform most of the effects explained in the book, you will be required to do some arts and crafts. Don't worry. The majority of props are not difficult to build.
