In 2012, Randy Butterfield of Midnight Card Company created the Ornate edition of playing cards inspired by gemstones - specifically amethyst, sapphire, and emerald.
The Ornate Amethyst cards are colored purple based on amethyst and complement the Ornate Emerald deck, which is green.
The card faces are completely redesigned - the Hearts and Diamonds have a purple background, while the Spades and Clubs are grey-black with green details.
The back design is very ornamental and will stand out in magic, cardistry, and the poker table.
The deck includes green and purple Jokers styled into a "fool's scepter" and a special half-back gaff card.
The cards were printed by the United States Playing Card Company on Aristocrat stock. The cards have a Magic Finish.
Limited edition of 2.500 decks.
