Inspired by the ancient story of Damocles, Damokles Playing Cards by Giovanni Meroni and Thirdway Industries tell the story of the people in power threatened by the hanging sword.
The threats can be anything. Giovanni divided them into four groups and assigned the court cards of each suit.
- Hearts - Threats caused by human emotions.
- King is Sacrifice / Queen is Vengeance / Jack is Defiance
- Diamonds - Threats caused by human hunger.
- King is Greed / Queen is Dominance / Jack is Indolence
- Clubs - Threats caused by the environment around us.
- King is World / Queen is Nature / Jack is Health
- Spades - Threats cause by spiritual or immaterial things.
- King is Time / Queen is Magic / Jack is Chaos
The cards are elegant and luxurious thanks to metallic copper and silver on the backs and metallic copper, silver, and green on the faces.
