You show your spectators three Chinese coins with a ribbon threaded through all of them. You also present to them your goal - to get them off the ribbon without sliding them off the ends.
The coins then magically leave the ribbon - by melting or shooting through it!
This routine, which many magicians fell in love with, was created by Troy Hooser. What is amazing about the Charming Chinese Challenge is that it uses no gimmicks. It is just pure sleight of hand.
