Cards Across is a classic card routine in which a card vanishes from one pile and reappears in another. This effect also caught the attention of Max Maven, who created his own version and named it Shinkansen.

First, you show four red cards and place them in the hands of one spectator. You show four blue cards to a second spectator, and they memorize one of them. The selected card then disappears!

You take the red cards from the first spectator. When you spread them out, there are suddenly five cards, and the fifth one is blue. Yes, it’s the spectator’s card!

Shinkansen is a simple magic trick where the special cards included in the package do most of the work for you.
