The Any Card at Any Number effect has always fascinated almost all magicians. Many have tried to create the most direct version of this effect. The spectator names any card and position in the deck, the cards in the deck are counted off, and the chosen card is found at the selected position. Such a Holy Grail was created by David Berglas and is known as the Berglas Effect. Craig Petty’s Atomic Deck is the modern approach to achieving this effect.
The Atomic Deck effect goes as follows. You place a deck of cards in front of your spectators. You ask them for any card and position in the deck, and note it down. You take the deck, count off a number of cards, and reveal the card at the chosen position!
You will use the spectator's or your mobile phone to perform this effect. Its use is naturally incorporated into the performance so that it is not distracting and does not affect the spectator's perception of the effect.
UPDATE! You can now perform the Atomic Deck without a cell phone. All you need is the provided crib and basic math.
